The Sixth Circuit recently unveiled proposed rule amendments on its website.  These rules represent the culmination of over a year’s worth of work both by the Sixth Circuit Rules Committee (of which I was a member) and the Judges’ Rules Committee.  Many of the changes were designed to make the rules in more “plain English” and to streamline and reshuffle some of the rules into a more coherent framework.  Next week, we will have a post describing any substantive changes to the rules about which practitioners should be aware.  In the meantime, any comments on the rules should be submitted to the Sixth Circuit no later than July 12.
